What happens to information from this website, and from getting in touch with me.
This website does not ask you for anything. There is no form, no sign-up and no account. When you get in touch, which today means WhatsApp, I have your message and your number, and I use them to answer you. That is the whole of it.
Capture & Keep is run by Amanda as a sole trader, based in Colchester, Essex.
This page covers the website and getting in touch. What happens to recordings, photographs and material during an actual project is a bigger subject and has its own page.
Information this website collects
Nothing you type. There is no contact form, no newsletter sign-up and no login anywhere on this site.
No cookies are set by this site. Nothing here tracks you between visits or follows you to other websites, including the visitor statistics described below. There is no advertising, and no data is sold or shared with advertisers, because none is collected for that purpose.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Displaying the typefaces means your browser requests them from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. This is how most websites load fonts. No cookie is set by it.
Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical information every web request carries, such as your IP address, so that it can serve you the page and block attacks.
Visitor statistics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without following you anywhere.
What it records is which pages get read, roughly which country a visit came from, which browser and device type was used, and which site a visitor arrived from. It does not set a cookie, does not build a profile, does not track you across other websites, and does not tell me who you are. There is nothing here to opt out of, because nothing identifies you in the first place.
If you message me
If you get in touch on WhatsApp, I have your phone number, your name as it appears on your account, and whatever you write to me. I use that to reply to you and to arrange work if we go ahead. WhatsApp messages are encrypted in transit and are covered by WhatsApp’s own privacy terms, which are not mine.
I do not add anybody to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.
I do not pass your details to anyone else.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me what information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Get in touch and I will do it.
If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this page
If what I do with information changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the bottom changes too.
